Imagine, Taking the mathematical complement of the world. Replace Ocean by Ground & Ground by Ocean. The present civilization would look something like as shown in the picture above.

Happy Diwali

Today is Diwali, the festival of lights, crackers and sweets. Walking down the streets of the city, sitting on the beach and watching cheerful families enjoying the festival, a very weird thought crossed my mind. Has the exhilaration/fanaticism of Diwali faded down?
As a kid i was one big maniac, who used to make long list of crackers about a month in advance. I still remember my negotiation talks with my dad about the cracker budget, which i invariably increase by 10% every year owing to rising prices of crackers (Inflation in today's term). I was a variety seeker who wanted quantity also. As a result my final list had to go through a series of iterative processes. But the final list sounds impressive as Indian cricket team on paper.
On D-Night of Diwali, my ecstatic oomph had no boundary. The intermittent and ubiquitous sound of cracker, the sweet smell of guzia and laddu, the houses and trees covered with light, everything looks so splendid. But my most cherished time was when my mom sends me to dad's friend's home with plates of sweets. I loved going there with the hope of meeting uncle's daughter. Diwali was one festival we all loved.
The last Diwali I celebrated properly was about 6 years ago when i was passing out of my HSC and we all school friends were parting. Definitely the craze and enthusiasm of of Diwali has declined but more importantly people have changed.
Happy Diwali..........

Chennai Shower
So finally monsoon arrived in Chennai. And what a rainy sunday it has been....
For all last 3-4 months of my stay at Chennai, I have been yearning for rain. The time I left Kolkata, it was submerged/buried under rain water. I even remember traveling in buses, trying hard to make way through river, flowing in the streets of the city. The no-monsoon period at Chennai was rather surprising for me as while whole of the country was witnessing huge downpour, the Chennaites were enjoying dog-days/summertide.
Today I woke-up to heavy downpour beating my eardrums. A glance at my Alarm clock showed 9:50. I thought the poor clock has run out of battery because from the scene outside my window it still seemed daybreak. I turned to my hand watch to confirm the time, but to my surprise it also showed 9:50. I still could not believe it, so finally took my mobile and to my horror it showed 9:50 too. I must have slept like a dog last night because I take pride in saying that I am generally an early riser. I already had missed the breakfast so that means I can't afford to miss lunch. But lunch was still 2-3 hours away. I pretended to read newspaper that I do soo effortlessly. Then went to my friends to apologize for my behavior last week as a part of damage (that i did last week knowingly/unknowingly) control activity.
Finally its the lunch time. But how do I go to Himalaya (The mess, not the you-know-what)? I didn't even have an umbrella or a raincoat. Finally I borrowed a wind-sheeter from a friend and left for my journey. Many great saints have undertaken difficult/herculean journeys for many noble causes. With all due respect to them, I think my journey had the noblest purpose, The food. Reaching Himalaya and attaining the purpose was one delightful moment. Now was the time to cruise towards my next destination, Taramani Gate. I sometimes wonder "What would have happened to many people like me, if taramani gate had not been there?". But today, going there is going to be one gargantuan task.
Now somehow I am back in my room sometime checking mails, sometime gazing out of the window. The scene outside looks so exquisite that I wish this Sunday lasts eternity.

A month gone by
Its been long time since I posted anything on my beloved blog. Of Course!! I am trying to flatter my blog, fearing she might desert me someday owing to my inconsiderate and inattentive behavior. The reason why i chose to assign a female attribute to my blog was that i wanted to make my relationship an intimate one. And no relationship can beat the intimacy between the opposite sexes.
On a serious note last one month has been quiet busy/confused/crushed/thwarted and a bizzare mixture of events. But i need not elaborate on those minuscule, insignificant things. While i was hustling with my life, world around took a complete turn. Many significant events have taken place. Here i have tried to simply collate a few of them, i thought are important for me.
1. My favorite blogger Amit Verma has won the prestigious 2007 Bastiat Prize for journalism. I knew the guy deserved it totally.
2. Sensex zoomed to 19.5K and then retraced to 17.5K owing to proposed curb on FII investment through PN route. But seems like the issue has been resolved and PN norms have been set up. Just today sensex has again reached a level of 19243.
3. The nuke deal between IND-US seems be have been put on back burner. No major progress in this area apart from talk with left parties (which i believe will go on endlessly).
4. The unabated upward march of crude oil continues on fear or sudden fall in US stocks. Crude now is trading at $89/barrel.

Degrading Indian Morality
May be I can't do much about it, but i certainly have some humanity left to do my bit. Here i m putting the article which made me question the morality of our so-called "Indian Society". We take pride in claiming that we worship females but the reality is something else.........read it to believe it......
"I fell into the ditch by the side of the road. I called out for help. Some
strangers helped me to my feet. On the pretext of taking me to safety, they
moved me to a corner, surrounded me and started pawing me. It lasted for
over ten minutes. They had their hands inside my jeans. There were so many
men. I couldn't fight them off. They went off only when the cricketer's bus,
which had been stalled, moved on carrying the mob with it."
-Front page report in Times of India
Sept 28, 2007
Read it a hundred times and every time imagine these words being utterred by
a woman you love. Your mother, your sister, your daughter maybe! Even at the
end of the tenth iteration, you will not be able to match the horror of this
girl.
And read the last sentence well. This happened during the victory rally of
the Indian cricket team. While we celebrated, Ms. Neha Soni got molested on
Marine Drive.
No! Don't you dare ask where was the police? The police for your information
were on a 36 hour shift. Ya you read that right…36 hours non-stop. Ganesh
Visarjan followed by this victory parade! It wasn't the police who should
have acted but the people around her. No one noticed and its quite possible
that also is true. All attention was on the Team India bus. More than whose
to blame, the question is how the fuck do we stop this!
You might laugh at this but our alertness is the key. Not losing your face
in a faceless mob is the key. I preach but I preach from practice. Let me
prove it to you.
For nearly two months after the 11 July bomb blasts, I used to scan every
passenger, under every berth with my eyes. You see, I wanted to catch the
bastard who planted the bomb so badly, that I just didn't drop my guard. It
got to a point where I was once mistaken as an undercover cop. This proves
that even after being tired by an entire day's work, by the harassment of
your colleagues and bosses you can still be a cop in civvies. All you need
is alertness.
In my life, I have been witness to five 'incidents.' Two occurred on a BEST
bus and were minor, meaning the girl was only troubled by the man leaning in
a little too close. The moment I saw this, I raised my voice and asked that
unknown girl," Tai, tickets tujhya kade ahet ka?" (Elder sister, are the bus
tickets with you?) Just one single voice asking a simple question; both
times the man moved on.
The third happened in a train where a Muslim woman inadvertently got into
the gents compartment and the fourth incident had gullal thrown at a girl in
an empty BEST bus during Ganpati Visarjan. Alertness and maneuvering myself
between the lady and the man solved the third 'incident'. A traffic jam
which allowed me to get out of the bus and buy a bottle of clean mineral
water towash her eyes helped in the fourth one.
The fifth was where I failed. It was fatigue maybe, just mental exhaustion
but I sinned by taking a causal chalta hain attitude when a woman entering a
gents compartment was groped. Her husband was with her and he searched
unsuccessfully for the perpetrator. The groper just disappeared in the
platform crowd. I remember that lady's face and even though I couldn't have
done anything, I wish I had.
Molestations, rapes, dowry deaths are huge problems. No ones asking you to
solve an entire nation's problems. But when they occur in front of you,
SOLVE THEM! You are an Indian and the girl getting pawed is an Indian too!
She is your sister and someone has put a hand in her jeans! Act! Act now!
If you think that you don't have time for this "herogiri" just remember
these words of one of India's best Chief Ministers(Kerala) E.M.S
Namboodripad. He was asked how it felt to be the people's Hero:
We have no heroes and no heroines amongst us. Just common people called upon
to do uncommon things!

Past, Future and The Present
Sometimes I contemplate, why is that we always seem to underestimate and discredit our “present” and crib about it not being up to our intuition and presupposition. Why “past” brings nostalgia while “future” hopes and promises but “present” always seems like a stage we want to get over as soon as possible. It’s not the first time when I am asking this question to myself. It is something that has been rattling and shaking my conscience for quiet a while.
As an infant I was so shocked and surprised of my existence that I didn’t speak/talk for a year and half. I didn’t have any past to compare but a hopeful future to look forward to. But the present was confusing with people around, making weird faces and thinking the kid is enjoying. I wanted to tell them “puleezzz get a life”.
As I grew up a little, I thought being a school going kid is the most disadvantageous position as one gotta bear the burden of studies and also be accountable to teachers in school and parents at home (I loved telling them how much I hate studies). That time I wished I were still an infant. But a bright future of college life ahead and hope of a girlfriend kept me going.
Then came the college life and I was all excited. I must confess that’s the only stage I didn’t feel nostalgic about my past. But the overexcitement of what seemed at that time a “promising future” took toll and I lost things one after another. My urgency to move out of that stage made me blind to precious possessions I had. I ignored them and as a result I lost people I loved most. Again I was excited about my new venture into corporate world, oblivious of the fact that it’s a trade off that I will face soon.
This was the real awakening when I realized the futility of past and future. Past can only bring moments of sadness and occasional happiness. Future nobody has seen and is uncertain. Present is real and that is where life is. At this stage when I have no rosy future to look forward to and no hopes, no promises from time to come that I realized the importance of Present.
Yesterday is history,
Tomorrow is mystery,
And today? Today is a gift,
That’s why we call it The Present.

Spreading few good words….
QED (Quiet Excellence Demonstrated) is something; we at DoMS follow with whole, unabridged heart. It’s the mantra, the modus operandi, the fashion and the attitude. The ubiquity and perpetuity of QED is so evident that one can invariably find someone (profs, students) referring to it.
But DoMS is a management institution and “selling” is core to any managerial skill. Imagine, of what use is your skill if you cannot tell others that you possess it. DoMS as an Institution has come of ages and its time that world should take notice of us. Having said that, it doesn’t mean we should overstate or inflate the facts. Our intention is to let the world know about the kind of good work we do at DoMS.
Hence, interfacing is indispensable and DoMS INTERFACE germinated just to serve the purpose. DoMS INTERFACE (earlier PR team) was re-christened this year so as to take the PR activity to the next level. I, as a member of DoMS INTERFACE team, have been assigned the task of online marketing and writing. Soon, I can be found on Pagalguy and many other online forums, distributing gyaan on happenings in DoMS. Some of my friends have taken up the nasty job of Media Relations, which is a very arduous task. Our seniors have done a commendable job of coming up with an awesome brochure, a new alumni website and all together a new DoMS website which will be inaugurated this 15th, The Independence Day.
I wish all of us a very best of luck and may we be able to continue the good work our seniors and faculty have been doing.
Just to indicate the kind of work we do:
1. 14th AUG 2007, Corporate Wisdom (one of our Industry Interaction forums) invites Mr. Srini Nageshwar, Director & CEO Dyansys (a global company, headquartered in the US that has been set up with the aim of applying higher Mathematics to Medicine). Mr Srini has a long career in IT including 25 years stint with HP. He will be delivering a lecture on “Global Management”.
2. 16th AUG, CEO Connect invites AIR DECCAN chief Captain Gopinath.

A New day ...........
I need not give explaination for my act of desertion. My last post is a clear testament of raison d'etre. Neverthless, i am glad of being able to post on my blog again.
Life has turned topsy-turvy, has taken 180 degree turn and seems like i am yet to get used to it. Last 3 odd weeks have been unanticipated, serialized chain of events. I came to this unchartered territory(Chennai) with lots of skepticism and apprehension. My immediate concern had been the interaction with the general crowd, but thank god IIT takes care of that by not allowing you enough time to roam around the city and talk to locals. IIT campus itself is so huge and fascinating that one doesn't feel like going out into the city. Add to that, a room on 7th floor of the hostel and the window facing the city, gives you a tremendous sense of empowerment and enjoyment(which i feel all the time). Accompanying us on this wild-forest/institute are Monkies and deers, at times mildly protesting the encroachment of their natural habitat by human-population.
Ours is the only wildlife amidst a city and the only institute amidst a wildlife.
The climate in chennai so-far has been so-good (keeping fingers crossed). For first few days my nose was jammed like clogged roads of any India metro and throat was relinquishing every spit that i was trying to swallow. But i am a pessimist and i know this is the best part.
I have been attending a few very interesting lectures recently and life seems to have entangled in paradoxes. For example
Individual truth, collective false
Individual brilliance, collective stupidity
Excitement of uncertainty, security of certainty
Strength comes from pain
Peace comes from war
Interpretation of these i ll leave to your imagination.

Vanishing Act....
It's going to be a hasty post.......
Tomorrow is my LWD (Last Working Day) at you-know-where and this might well be my last post from the premises of my organization. I shall refrain from taking my company's name on a public forum. Tomorrow i have to go through all those pains of clearances and asset submissions, and you thought only schools and colleges make you go through all these sufferings. These MNC's are no better.
My short association with Kolkata and with my organization does not have anything very worth remembering. Except for a few things
-- Salary at the end of the month (No matter if u haven't even bothered to work)
-- Those pathetic wooden buses and clogged roads.
-- Never-ending strikes leading to closure of our office.
-- City center, Hiland park, Park-street, 89 cinemas, Swabhumi, Orkus, caught-n-bowled, Abcos, Stadel and list goes on.
-- never-ending chase for girls.
Now, ill be going off to my dad's place. So i won't be able to post anything for next two weeks. For a change i also started blogging at bakarzone. This is a forum started by some of my engg batch mates, for insanely different people. Do visit here and i bet you ll love it.

A morning with rain..........
I woke up today neither to the phosphorescent sunlight nor to the singing of birds but to the drizzling sound of rain. I found myself lying lazily on bed repudiating all efforts/excuses of getting me up. It was one of the laziest mornings of recent times.
My cousin turned-on the TV(placed above my head). Through news i came to know that its been raining heavily since 3O'Clock in the morning and whole of the City is flooded with water. Finally i got up against my will and went through ritual phases of getting-fresh. As i sat on a chair in varandah with a hot cup of tea, i watched the rhythmic dance of furious rain. I could see high-rise flats(mark of a metropolitan city) struggling to keep up against heavenly fury. Barely any flying-creatures/birds were visible. On one corner an old poor woman was hiding in a nonexistent shade. She was totally wet from top to bottom with very little cloth on her body. The sight was apologetic enough to send chill down my spines. To avoid the guilty feeling i tried to look elsewhere and found several bare-chest, hand-pulled Rickshaw-wallas still trying to make a living. Life is so-much difficult in metros these days and i always wonder why these people keep coming to big cities leaving behind friends, family and home. As a kid my dad always used to take me to his village and i loved it for its simplicity and natural beauty. Atleast everybody had a house/place to live. The scene on the street was grievous enough to make me avoid looking down and i started gazing at clouds passing over the City.
The clouds reminded me of Meghdootam by Kalidas. Though i have never read it but i know these clouds are perfect exemplification of Meghdoot. Kalidas personified cloud as a messenger carrying the love message of a solider to his wife, traveling over (Once upon a time, beautiful) city of Ujjaini. I began to unearth if these clouds carry some message for me. I sat there for sometime and started thinking about the time that has gone by, things changed and things lost. Suddenly, my Masi broke my day-dream and i realized its time to leave for office. But these clouds do carry loads of messages. Don't they??

Are you an Indian or a Hindu??
A recent conversation with an European counterpart made me probe into my true identity. Who am i, an Indian or a Hindu?? What is more prominent, my Indianess or my Hindu Values??
This is one question dreaded and avoided by my many Indians and i am no exception. For long i have lived under postulation that being Indian quintessentially means being Hindu and vice versa. The evil-doer can be traced back to the kind of up-bringing we get in our society. Our religious identity is enslaved on us as the only identity we should recognize with. So in battle between National and Religious identity the latter always win without exception.
India is (or at-least claims to be) a Secular Country. We claim that religion has no role to play in most of the national activities. Health, Education, national policies and politics etc are all free from religious disparities. But is simply declaring yourself as secular good enough?? Had that been the case we wouldn't have seen rise of religious parties. We wouldn't have seen political parties playing dirty political games on religious/caste ground. As if that was not enough recent announcement of Shiv-Sena to support the President candidate Pratibha Patil on ground of her being Marathi was totally absurd and anti-secular.
Western people often confuse India with land of Hindus but they fail to acknowledge the presence of large number of Muslim population. The Indian identity is obscured with Hindu religious teachings/spirituality. But India is a lot more then just Hindus.....
Its time that we should give India its due Identity that of a truly diverse country....

Hilarious Studies...
Dating, drugs and sex make teens feel older
The above news/report/research (actually the distinction between the three ceases to exist here) got me thinking "who fund all these crap researches??".
Have a look at some of the key findings of this particular study ::
Having an older dating partner seems to give a teen a higher subjective
experience of age.
Sexual experience is unequivocally the realm of adult behavior. So, when teens
are having sex and their peers aren’t, it can make them feel more adult, more
mature than their non-experienced counterparts.
Smoking (in boys), higher alcohol use and higher drug use are also related to
an older subjective experience of age
Its hilarious that people actually spend money/time on such studies. And some Bekar souls like me actually read them. Also, have a look at other such studies on the page. some of them are ::
--High heels can cost you your life!
--Teenager in love
--Regular sex increases men's longevity
--Housework reduces diabetes risk
--Pregnant mums should stay out of the sun
--Watch out for that summer suntan!
--Money really can buy happiness!
--The secret to looking ten years younger!
--Your shopping reflects what you are!
--Living Extra Large!
--Men really are better than women at map reading
--Shoe shopping is good for women's health!
--Kids prefer daddy in the driving seat
--Birthing as intimate as sex, say 'freebrithers'
Now i better be reading some of them......

Mobile Vs Laptop
What would you choose if you were given an option between a Mobile-phone and a Lappie/PC??
A recent survey in America reveals that Americans prefer Mobile-phone over Laptop/PC. Almost 90% of respondents said they would rather do away with PC/laptop but can't afford to part with their Cells/Mobiles.
Now, when the same question was posed to GenY of India, the results have been quiet amusing. The responses were very mixed and evenly distributed between the two options, almost 50%-50%.
Now why such a drastic difference in opinion?? A friend of mine tried to explain this difference. His argument is "America's younger generation is spoiled, their only/sole moto in life is to party hard and have fun and thats where Mobiles/Cells come handy to keep them in touch with other party-goer. They can do away with all the information available on internet but they simply can't ignore weekend parties. While, the Indian counterparts are hard-working and they want to learn and hence the inclination towards PC/Lappie".
But somehow i am not convinced. There must be something more to explain this..... One possible reason which i could think of is "how do you see a mobile phone". In America or Western countries whenever you refer to a moblie phone, it generally means a 3G enabled Cell(Blackberry type) capable of doing all those applications which you do on your Lappie/PC. And hence the high skewness towards Cells in America. While in India a Mobile/Cell generally refers to a low end basic device used for keeping you in touch with your family and friends. So as expected Indian youth is confused while choosing between the two and hence 50-50 response.
Give Indian youth an option between a Blackberry and a laptop, i bet Blackberry will win handsomely........

Misread Ideology
I here by confess that once again I have committed a blunder. And this time its no small. Its about, to what extent you can misread a seemingly simple ideology and then get entangled in its web of arguments and counter-arguments.
I had heard a lot about a book by Amartya Sen on Indian culture named "Augmentative Indian" (If you know about this book do not panic here). From what i could guess from the title of the book, my impression of the book was that it would be about the "Augmentative nature of Indians". By Augmentative nature i mean the ability of most of Indians to Augment (Accrue/Intensify) our claims to show the grass much greener then what it actually is. I thought the book would be a revelation of our Augmentative nature and would trace this characteristic to the ancient India. Needless to say i was dying to read this book.
I was waiting to get hold on to the book but didn't want to buy it as i always do. Then one day my roommate brought the book from crossroad (I always wonder how he manages to buy all those costly books from crossroad with the meager salary that we get). Nevertheless i was happy as finally i would be reading the book.
I started reading the book without giving due attention to its cover-page. The Book is a collection of essays written over last two decades on Indian history, religion public debate and "intellectual pluralism". The very first line of the book talks about our love for "prolixity". I thought my impression of the book was correct as it talked about the loquaciousness of we, The Indians.
But something caught my attention, the book wasn't talking about the "Augmentative Indians" but instead it was about the love of Indians for Arguments and evolution of this Argumentative nature in contemporary Indian Society. I turned to the cover-page and got the shock of my life. The title of the book was "Argumentative Indian" and not "Augmentative Indian" as i thought. The two seemingly similar words have vastly different meaning when put in correct context.
As i continued my reading i realized how Amartaya Sen caught the "Argumentative" nature of Indians and traced its evolution to as back as "Maurya and Gupta Dynasties". The best argument in support of "Argumentative" nature of Indians is the Epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana which are far more voluminous then any written material on earth. Even the nature of "Geeta" can be considered Argumentative where lord Krishna argues for the karma and not bothering about the outcome.
The ubiquity of our Argumentative nature is undeniable. We love arguing about failure of our Cricketers, reservations, Ash-Abhi marriage, India's economic growth prospects and the recent row in Punjab between Dera-sacha-sauda and Akal Takhat also reinforces the Argumentative nature of Indians. But i am disheartened to note nothing has been said about "The Augmentative nature of Indians".

Marketing Goof-Up
While reading today's newspaper i got stuck up with a news about Indian railways selling its train names, tickets space etc to advertisers for generating more revenues. A trail has already begun with 3 trains being taken by Frito-lays promoted "Kurkure". Now the train will be called "Banglore-Chennai Kurkure Express". What!!! Kurkure Express.......!!! Are they going to distribute free kurkure to all passengers or what?? Imagine if this trial goes successful and more advertisers come calling for trains, we might end up with fancy names for trains. e.g.
"Patna-Lucknow kamasutra Express"
"Jaipur-Bikaner Bisleri Express"
"Allahabad-Bhopal Jockey Express"
"Lalquila Viagra Express"
I am not doubting the credibility of our beloved Railway minister Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav as he has already proved himself by turning loss making Indian railways into a profit making organization. Now he can also boasts of being the only polticians who has addressed management graduates in Ivy league institutes e.g IIM-A and Harvard. I don't profess to be a marketing guru either. The only point i want to get across here is that an advertiser needs to be careful while choosing a particular train.
Imagine Jockey buying rights for a train to hinterland UP or Bihar?? Common!!! U can't expect those dhoti clad guys to buy your Jockey. While a Good marketing move would be a condom brand (kamasutra, durex etc) buying the rights for a honeymoon train between Dehradoon and Darjeeling.
Hmmmmmmm..... Good funda!! ain't it??
Anyways, Dr. Philip Kotler needs to watch out as here comes our very own desi marketing guru Dr. Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Time to start outsourcing Cricket
India's recent debacle in Cricket World Cup 2007 has received rave castigation from all corners. More over, the ripple effect of this disaster was observed as far as, in Indian Economy also. Sensex shed close to 200 points following the news. Companies have started reporting losses owing to India's dismal performance(Read Ad revenue losses).
When so much is on stake what can be done now?
Here I have a suggestion for BCCI and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Some economist(I don't remember who) has said that to get maximum benefit each country should do what it does best and outsource rest of the activities to other countries where it can be done cheaply and most effectively.Thats how India has emerged as outsourcing hub in services. Now we have enough of evidence to proof that we r not good in sports. Why not outsource our sports activities to countries like Australia? This will serve two purposes, first we will save a lot of bucks that is being spent on these useless sports activities. Second, we can utilize those cricketers in services outsourcing. Infact we can strike a deal with Australia where we can outsource our cricketing team and they can outsource their IT service requirement.
Now some people would say, how that team represents Indian team with all foreign players? My answer would be look at West Indies team, England team If Indians can play in their team there is no harm foreigners playing for Indian team. And a well known fact is the 11 players represents BCCI which is a private corporation and not INDIA.

Salam Bloggers........
Feels gr8 to be a part of this community called "THE BLOGGERS".
Yeah u heard it right!
Blogs are one of the best things happened to me in life. Hitherto i have been a silent readers of all kinda blogs. Recently, i started reading a book by Thomas L Friedman called "The World Is Flat". No No this aint abt proving that world is flat contrary to what Columbus proved many years ago, infact its abt globalization, how the equations are changing and how so called BRIC countries are coming up and competing with western countries. In short the world is getting leveled. In this book he talked abt 10 fatteners which helped countries like INDIA to compete the way it is competing now. To name a few netscape, Google, Y2K, IT bust were few flatteners. I m not going to explain them but the whole purpose i referred to these flatteners is to introduce a new 11th flattener which i believe Mr. Friedman missed big time.
That 11th flattener is BLOGGING.Imagine life before blogging came into being , we had Google we had Yahoo we had Instant messengers to connect, to collaborate and share our things. but was that enough?
Thing that tickles me most is what was the reason that prompted us to take blogging in such a big way? Well i believe there is a humane side attached with blogging. We all have a Chetan Bhagat (remember 5 point someone and 1 night @callcenter) residing inside us. We all have gone thru turbulent times we all at times laugh at ourselves we ll at times feel anger joy frustration elation and all those unsaid feelings. We all have a darker side of life which we pretend to hide. There are many things u want to share but u can't becoz u thought mom dad won't be able to understand, sis bro are to small to get that, frnds will make fun n what not. But we all need a vent to let this feeling go otherwise this feeling of guilt, frustration, joy, happiness ll choke our lives. Thats where blogging comes to save our lives. Its a mean a platform to say things we would have never said otherwise.
Now howz blogging a flattener? Well imagine do we really know how ordinary ppl in and around the world think in day to day life. I think not. But then u would argue that we have many books, Novels etc but thats not how ordinary ppl think. These books are fantasies mixed with a politically correct language n thats where the very essence of writing is lost. U have to be crude u have to be straight u have to be spot on n thats where blogging scores. We have blogs by ppl around the world abt day to day routine and thats how world is flattening.
I dnt profess to be a writer but i truly believe that we all have a writer within us and we all are wannabe Chetan Bhagat.
Happy Blogging :)
