Spreading few good words….

QED (Quiet Excellence Demonstrated) is something; we at DoMS follow with whole, unabridged heart. It’s the mantra, the modus operandi, the fashion and the attitude. The ubiquity and perpetuity of QED is so evident that one can invariably find someone (profs, students) referring to it.

But DoMS is a management institution and “selling” is core to any managerial skill. Imagine, of what use is your skill if you cannot tell others that you possess it. DoMS as an Institution has come of ages and its time that world should take notice of us. Having said that, it doesn’t mean we should overstate or inflate the facts. Our intention is to let the world know about the kind of good work we do at DoMS.

Hence, interfacing is indispensable and DoMS INTERFACE germinated just to serve the purpose. DoMS INTERFACE (earlier PR team) was re-christened this year so as to take the PR activity to the next level. I, as a member of DoMS INTERFACE team, have been assigned the task of online marketing and writing. Soon, I can be found on Pagalguy and many other online forums, distributing gyaan on happenings in DoMS. Some of my friends have taken up the nasty job of Media Relations, which is a very arduous task. Our seniors have done a commendable job of coming up with an awesome brochure, a new alumni website and all together a new DoMS website which will be inaugurated this 15th, The Independence Day.

I wish all of us a very best of luck and may we be able to continue the good work our seniors and faculty have been doing.
Just to indicate the kind of work we do:

1. 14th AUG 2007, Corporate Wisdom (one of our Industry Interaction forums) invites Mr. Srini Nageshwar, Director & CEO Dyansys (a global company, headquartered in the US that has been set up with the aim of applying higher Mathematics to Medicine). Mr Srini has a long career in IT including 25 years stint with HP. He will be delivering a lecture on “Global Management”.

2. 16th AUG, CEO Connect invites AIR DECCAN chief Captain Gopinath.

A New day ...........

I need not give explaination for my act of desertion. My last post is a clear testament of raison d'etre. Neverthless, i am glad of being able to post on my blog again.
Life has turned topsy-turvy, has taken 180 degree turn and seems like i am yet to get used to it. Last 3 odd weeks have been unanticipated, serialized chain of events. I came to this unchartered territory(Chennai) with lots of skepticism and apprehension. My immediate concern had been the interaction with the general crowd, but thank god IIT takes care of that by not allowing you enough time to roam around the city and talk to locals. IIT campus itself is so huge and fascinating that one doesn't feel like going out into the city. Add to that, a room on 7th floor of the hostel and the window facing the city, gives you a tremendous sense of empowerment and enjoyment(which i feel all the time). Accompanying us on this wild-forest/institute are Monkies and deers, at times mildly protesting the encroachment of their natural habitat by human-population.
Ours is the only wildlife amidst a city and the only institute amidst a wildlife.
The climate in chennai so-far has been so-good (keeping fingers crossed). For first few days my nose was jammed like clogged roads of any India metro and throat was relinquishing every spit that i was trying to swallow. But i am a pessimist and i know this is the best part.
I have been attending a few very interesting lectures recently and life seems to have entangled in paradoxes. For example
Individual truth, collective false
Individual brilliance, collective stupidity
Excitement of uncertainty, security of certainty
Strength comes from pain
Peace comes from war
Interpretation of these i ll leave to your imagination.
